### About the Role

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines is recruiting for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) focused on CAPLYTA (Neuroscience), based in the Maryland/DC/Virginia territory. This is a field-based scientific role where you will be the emerging expert on current and future Johnson & Johnson Innovative products. You'll develop and enhance professional relationships with key thought leaders and healthcare professionals, providing fair-balanced, objective, non-promotional scientific information and education. The MSL drives high-quality scientific exchange, territory execution, and actionable insight generation while maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity, professionalism, and compliance.

### What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan for the territory that aligns with Medical Affairs strategy, prioritized medical objectives, and approved core medical assets.
  • Cultivate strong professional relationships with community and academic opinion leaders/KOLs to advance our scientific credibility.
  • Engage in high-quality, two-way scientific exchange that encourages dialogue, shared understanding, and learning over time in the relevant disease area.
  • Use insights and MSL tools to build a strategic approach for customer engagements by collecting, synthesizing, and applying clinical, scientific, competitive, and territory-level information.
  • Leverage AI tools and insights to enhance decision-making, streamline processes, and improve efficiency and outcomes across core responsibilities.
  • Maintain awareness of direct and indirect competitors within the therapeutic area and incorporate relevant, evidence-based clinical context into scientific engagement planning and compliant discussions.
  • Deliver relevant scientific data tailored to HCP needs through clear dialogue and presentations that translate complex clinical evidence into meaningful discussion.
  • Identify challenges or unmet needs with healthcare providers and internal partners, then collaboratively propose evidence-based solutions or educational initiatives.
  • Collect and submit high-quality actionable insights in a timely manner aligned with current strategic priorities.
  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries on J&J products and research from external stakeholders.
  • Provide point-of-contact support to investigators and internal partners for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.
  • Compliantly collaborate with internal stakeholders in a matrixed environment, including MSL field partners, R&D, U.S. and Global Medical Affairs teams, Clinical Operations, and appropriate role-defined interactions with Sales and Marketing.
  • Maintain strong scientific acumen through self-reading, journal clubs, educational seminars, and attending local and national congresses.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging both internally and externally.
  • Develop thorough understanding of regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines, corporate policies, and Medical Affairs SOPs.
  • In collaboration with your Field Director, develop and implement a performance and development plan and may contribute to additional leadership or enterprise initiatives.
  • Perform all administrative requirements timely, accurately, and compliantly, including documentation of activities and expense reporting.

### What You'll Need

  • **Required:** A Doctorate level degree or equivalent experience (Pharm. D, Ph. D, MD, Advanced Practice Providers). Post-graduate experience is required for doctoral-level candidates, with preference for therapeutic area clinical experience.
  • **Required:** In-depth scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge; research and/or healthcare system knowledge; proficiency in data gathering and analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis.
  • **Required:** Ability to support a specific territory with up to 70% travel (in territory, for internal meetings and congresses). Must hold a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
  • **Preferred:** 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in an MSL role. 2+ years of therapeutic area experience is preferred. Residency/fellowship and board certification for clinical degrees preferred. Demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies, such as AI, through exploration, iteration, and applying new tools over time.

### Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $117,000.00 – $201,250.00. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible for the Company’s long-term incentive program. Time off benefits include: Vacation (120 hours per calendar year), Sick time (40 hours per year; 48 hours for Colorado; 56 hours for Washington), Holiday pay including Floating Holidays (13 days per year), Work, Personal and Family Time (up to 40 hours per year), Parental Leave (480 hours within one year of birth/adoption/foster care), Bereavement Leave (240 hours for immediate family; 40 hours for extended family per year), Caregiver Leave (80 hours in a 52-week rolling period), Volunteer Leave (32 hours per year), and Military Spouse Time

  • Off (80 hours per year).
